The New York State Association of PBAs, formerly known as Metropolitan Police Conference, is an organization of public safety labor unions. Formed in 1968, it comprises scores of groups representing law enforcement officers from the metropolitan area and throughout New York State, as well as the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and the Port Authority of NY & NJ.

The Association was formed to give police and law enforcement officers a unified voice to represent their interests. It provides a forum for the exchange of information related to issues affecting law enforcement officers and the public they protect. The Association maintains a strong legislative presence in Albany, proposing and supporting, or opposing, legislation related to law enforcement.

The Association’s legislative office in Albany is staffed by a Legislative Committee comprised of active and retired police officers who lobby on behalf of their constituents with respect to issues that impact public safety and the safety and security of police officers.

The Association's Executive Board and Legislative Committee are supported by paid professionals, including a Legislative Director, General Counsel and various support personnel.

Our Albany office is typically open and staffed only during the state legislative session, but is available in support of all our members units year-round, and we encourage their involvement.
